Special Weather Statement issued June 27 at 6:56PM MDT by NWS Denver CO At 656 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking gusty showers along a line extending from near Mead to Denver, or along a line extending from 15 miles southwest of Greeley to 58 miles north of Colorado Springs. Movement was east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Denver, northwestern Aurora, northeastern Lakewood, Thornton, southeastern Arvada, Westminster, eastern Longmont, Broomfield, Commerce City, Northglenn, Brighton, Wheat Ridge, Lafayette, Erie, Federal Heights, Firestone, western Denver International Airport, Frederick, Fort Lupton, and Lochbuie. Prepare for sudden gusty winds. Secure loose objects and move to a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
