Red Flag Warning issued June 30 at 12:45AM PDT until July 3 at 8:00PM PDT by NWS Sacramento CA * Winds...Northerly wind 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Strongest wind gusts Tuesday morning and along the western half of the Sacramento Valley into the eastern Coast Range. * Humidity...Minimum relative humidity of 5 to 15 percent. Nighttime humidity recoveries will also be very poor in the 15 to 25 percent range. * Highest Threat...Sacramento Valley, generally west of Interstate 5 and elevations below 3000 feet. * Impacts...The combination of gusty winds and low humidity can cause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity. Outdoor burning is not recommended. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Resultant widespread Major HeatRisk, with areas of Extreme HeatRisk. * WHERE...Carquinez Strait and Delta, Sacramento Valley, Northern San Joaquin Valley, and surrounding foothills. * WHEN...From 11 AM Tuesday to 8 PM PDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat could significantly impact outdoor holiday activities. Hottest temperatures are expected to be Tuesday and Wednesday but continue into next weekend. Area waterways will continue to run cold and fast, creating dangerous conditions for those seeking relief in rivers and lakes. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles.
