Additional 1 to 2 inches in the forecast next week may extend river level recession times. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Redwood River near Redwood Falls. * WHEN...Until Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...At 8.5 feet, Swayback bridge in Redwood Falls overtopped. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 900 PM CDT Friday, the stage was 9.1 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 900 PM CDT Friday was 9.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early Wednesday afternoon and continue falling to 5.2 feet Friday, July 05. - Flood stage is 6.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 9.0 feet on 03/04/1983. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
