Excessive Heat Warning issued June 29 at 7:16PM CDT until June 29 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS Tulsa OK * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 110. * WHERE...In Arkansas, Crawford, Franklin, and Sebastian Counties. In Oklahoma, Cherokee, Muskogee, Okfuskee, Sequoyah, Creek, Mayes, Okmulgee, Osage, Pawnee, Rogers, Tulsa, Wagoner, Washington OK, Choctaw, Haskell, Latimer, Le Flore, McIntosh, Pittsburg, and Pushmataha Counties. * WHEN...Until 9 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a dangerous situation in which heat related illnesses are more likely. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Movement was southwest at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down small tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
