Heat Advisory issued June 28 at 2:33AM CDT until June 28 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS Norman OK * WHAT...Heat index values up to 109 expected. * WHERE...Portions of central, northern, northwest, southwest, and western Oklahoma and northern Texas. * WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 9 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Special Weather Statement issued June 28 at 2:29AM CDT by NWS Norman OK At 229 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles west of Manchester to 5 miles east of Great Salt Plains Lake to 3 miles west of Jet. Movement was east at 50 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Medford, Pond Creek, Wakita, Jet, Nash, Manchester, Jefferson, Renfrow, Great Salt Plains Lake, and Waldron. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
