Flood Advisory issued June 27 at 12:06AM EDT until June 27 at 3:15AM EDT by NWS Jackson KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall from showers and thunderstorms is expected. * WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Kentucky, including the following counties, in south central Kentucky, McCreary and Whitley. In southeast Kentucky, Bell and Knox. * WHEN...Until 315 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1205 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.6 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Williamsburg, Barbourville, Dishman Springs, Swan Lake, Swanpond, Indian Creek, Emmanuel, Lowell, King, Clate, Permon, Bentley Station, Heidrick, Baileys Switch, Arkle, Garrich, Bryants Store, Boone Heights, Rossland and Hubbs. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
