Special Weather Statement issued June 28 at 12:11AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS At 1209 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Goddard to near Viola to Argonia. Movement was east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Wichita, Derby, Andover, Haysville, Wellington, Park City, Bel Aire, Mulvane, Goddard, Rose Hill, Maize, Kingman, Clearwater, Cheney, Belle Plaine, Harper, Conway Springs, Garden Plain, Downtown Wichita, and Eastborough. This includes the following highways... Interstate 135 between Mile Markers 0 and 12. Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 18 and 54. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service office in Wichita.
